Fox Meadow Condominium Sewers
Hayduk Engineering designs its first privately owned and operated Sewage Treatment Plant at the Fox Meadow Condominiums in Port Jefferson Station, NY. The STP was designed to blend into the residential community. HE also provided site/civil engineering services and construction administration on this 133 unit development project.

Lakebridge Club Stormwater Management Ponds
Hayduk Engineering designs first innovative stormwater management trench/pond system at the Lakebridge Club, a 250 unit condominium development in Kings Park, NY.” Work included site/civil engineering and a sewage pump station and force main connection to Suffolk County Sewer District #6 – Kings Park.
Town of Brookhaven Stormwater Damage Assessment
Hayduk Engineering undertook a crucial project to assess damage and erosion to Long Island Sound Beaches following the October 31st storm and tide surge, famously depicted in the movie “The Perfect Storm”. The project included inspection, evaluation, prioritization, and recommendation of remedial actions and associated cost estimates.

Stephen G. Hayduk, P.E. is appointed Commissioner of Suffolk County Department of Public Works. Out of necessity, HE office operations are put on hiatus while he serves as Commissioner.

Stephen G. Hayduk reorganizes the firm as Hayduk Engineering, LLC and reopens the office.

Mount Sinai Yacht Club Clubhouse
Hayduk Engineering serves as the engineering in charge of the design and construction of the replacement of the Mount Sinai Yacht Club. The original building was constructed from a South American “banana barge” that was floated into place.

Stephen G. Hayduk, P.E. is retained as the Village Engineer for the Inc. Village of Old Field, NY.

Conscience Bay Stormwater Treatment and Wetlands Enhancement
Construction is completed for the Suffolk County Planning Commission award winning Conscience Bay Stormwater Treatment and Wetlands Enhancement Project in Old Field, NY. HE, along with teaming partner GEI Consultants, designed this innovative 3-tiered stormwater treatment system to improve water quality in Conscience Bay, a TMDL impaired waterbody.

Highpoint Retaining Wall Replacement
HE served as engineer of record for the design and construction of a $2+ million retaining wall replacement project at the Highpoint at Douglaston apartment complex. The project included over 2000 LF of new segmental retaining walls ranging from 3-18’ in height throughout the community.

Wincoram Commons Ribbon Cutting
HE attended the ribbon cutting ceremony for the Wincoram Commons 150 unit affordable housing mixed-use development in Coram, NY, at the site of the former United Artists movie theatre. HE provided sanitary engineering services including the design of a new pumping station and 4,700 LF on-site and replacement of SCSD #11 Pump Station #3. Project was later awarded the Long Island Builders Institute Gold Award for Engineering Design in 2019
LIRR Expansion Project
The Long Island Rail Road’s $2 billion project to add a 9.8-mile third track from Hicksville to Floral Park includes bridge expansions, station upgrades, and grade crossing eliminations to enhance safety and capacity. Hayduk Engineering, as a subconsultant to Stantec, contributed by designing security fencing, HiRail vehicle access points, a vision screen for the Floral Park Recreation Center, and providing civil engineering support.

Hampton Inn Hotel Wastewater Treatment Plant
Hayduk Engineering partnered with Chatham Lodging Trust to replace a failing passive denitrification system at the Hampton Inn with a state-of-the-art 15,000 gpd BESST wastewater treatment plant. HE provided design and construction administration, overseeing the Design-Build project completed in early 2020, and continues as the Engineer of Record for the facility.

All American Assisted Living Ribbon Cutting
HE attends ribbon cutting for the new All American Assisted Living Facility in Coram, NY. HE provided site/civil and wastewater engineering services for this premier 112-bed facility with a memory care wing. The project was awarded the Long Island Business News Assisted Living Project of the Year in 2020.

NYSDEC Bay Park Conveyance Project
Hayduk Engineering begins working on the NYSDEC Bay Park Conveyance Project as a subconsultant to AECOM. The BPCP, a $500+ million water quality project, is re-routing over 50 million gallons of wastewater per day from the South Shore Water Reclamation Facility that discharges to Western Bays in East Rockaway to the ocean outfall at Cedar Creek Wastewater Treatment Plant in Wantagh, NY. Our Chief Inspector, Jeff Hayduk, is still working on this project today.

Hayduk Engineering first appears on ENR’s NY’s Top 100 Design Firms in 2021 and has continued to make this list in 2022, 2023, and 2024.

NYSTA 27 Service Plazas Reconstruction
Hayduk Engineering begins work on the New York State Thruway Authority 27 Service Plazas Replacement design-build project as a subconsultant to AECOM. HE was responsible for the site/civil design for the complete reconstruction of 10 service plazas located from Westchester County to past Albany, NY.

Hayduk Engineering received its first Hot Firm Award in 2022 and has continued to earn this distinction in 2023 and 2024.

Callahans Beach Reconstruction
Construction completed for the $2.2 million shoreline stabilization and stormwater improvements project at Callahans Beach in Fort Salonga, NY. HE served as the engineer-in-charge of design and construction. The project received awards from LIBN, NYSSPE L.I. Chapter, ASCE L.I. Branch, and ACEC-NY.

Former NYSDEC Region 1 Regional Director and Suffolk County Deputy County Executive (known widely as the “Water Quality Czar”) Peter A. Scully joins HE as Director of Business Development.
